Perform a Google images search for the word "Digital", and [the above image] is the first result of 8,750,000,000 to appear. When you see this image, what's the first thing to come to mind? For many, this image mentally triggers an association with electronics or, more specifically, computers. These networks of lines visually represent information, flowing and being processed. These line-systems have become a visual signifier of device that speak the digital language. What we don't see, when looking at these graphic-networks, is the actual grammar which travels through the meandering paths. The grammar itself [the information], is digital; but what does that mean?
